An Island Life ClickN Kids Review

With Josiah nearing preschool, I’ve been a little worried that I haven’t worked with him enough of the alphabet, spelling, and reading. I wanted to find something online that not only educated him in those areas, but held his interest. Luckily, I found ClickN Kids.

My Thoughts
As I logged into ClickN Kids for the first time, I felt a little overwhelmed. There was a lot to process, but I immediately realized how easy the program was as long as you read the instructions. That is a must! They walk you through everything to set up your account and get your children started to increase their reading and spelling skills.
I set up Josiah’s account to begin with lesson 1, which is at the very beginning of the alphabet and simple sounds, Aa and Mm! The lesson is animated, which was a major plus for him, and not only held his attention, but was interactive. He clicked on the letters of the sounds produced and was very excited each time he was correct. I was immediately impressed at home someone without much time spent on a computer could easily catch on and enjoy the program.
For more advanced students, you can start lessons at a higher level, making them more intensive and difficult. I also love that after every 20 lessons completed, you receive a cumulative results report so you, as a parent, can better assess your child’s skills and what they need to focus on to succeed in reading.
Another thing I love about the program is that it isn’t overwhelming for children either. It is set up for each child to participate 1 lesson per day, 5 days a week. This gives children time to process and, more importantly, not lose interest. We all know how short attention spans are and this is key when finding a good reading program. ClickN Kids definitely takes this into account!
